One of the more unique and mentally stimulating aspects of working in Human Resources over the course of my career is that I have been able to be a part of a number of strategy projects, committees, and events. While some have revolved around developing our HR Dept. as a whole. Others have allowed me to reach out within the regions and markets that I support outside of the typical day-to-day office grind. Those committees and my duties are outlined below.
Chipotle Committees Overview
- Community Partnership Building
- Spearheaded campaigns in multiple markets (8 states) including large metro's along with remote locations to build brand awareness for Chipotle
- Worked with community organizations, workforce planning centers, non-profit organizations, refugee placement networks, universities, and community leaders to promote a grassroots effort for recruitment and increased brand support
- NRO Staffing and project management
- Built staffing plans and executed goals in a 120, 90, 60, and 30 day time line prior to opening of restaurant
- Successfully opened 10 new stores at model
- Was the main point of contact for all operation leads during the staffing process of the restaurant
- Monthly Recruitment Training and Skill Development group
- Assisted in a monthly training for our recruitment team of 35+ national recruiters to develop new skill-sets, streamline communication, utilize new technologies, and strategize for success in multiple markets
CHI Health Committee Overview
- Employee Experience Team
- TA specific group dedicated to improving the overall new hire experience including recruitment, on-boarding, and 90 day retention
- EVP (Employee Value Committee)
- The EVP team was made up of a group of individuals throughout our HR department to improve Employee (External & Internal) incentive programs
- Helped bring in new sign-on bonuses, loan forgiveness, and referral incentives

- National Recruitment Team - Affinity Group
- Took part in and on occasion lead an annual monthly call to work with CHI Health HR teams from across the country including (Houston, Tacoma, Omaha, Des Moines, Lexington, and Little Rock)
- CHI Health Go! Fellowship
- Worked directly with our CHI fellow members to put together internal networking team & activities
- Helped build stand alone constitution so that groups could be formed independently across 13 separate hospital locations
- CHI Health Foundation member
- Active volunteer member for CHI Foundation which includes working networking events, foundation drives, and attaining funds while striving to pursue the foundation mission of "Transforming lives through meaningful relationships"
- Retention Strategy Committee
- Work flow team dedicated to building strategy towards retention for both clinical and non-clinical employees
- CHI Health Scholarship Selection Committee
- Volunteer for HR scholarship committee that gave out 12 - $1,000 scholarships to high school seniors looking to attain education in the medical profession
- Reviewed scholarship applications
- Slack Application Training Lead
- Trained internal HR team about suggested office communication tool
- Led initiative so staff would be able to use tool at events, conferences, networking opportunities

- BFAW (Best Friends at Work) - Office Social Chair
- Active member of the office social chair
- Tasks include planning quarterly events including holidays, team building exercises, team outings, and theme activities
- Led group over winter holidays to have staff donate service hours to local non-profits
- CHI Health Care Career Exploration Camp
- Yearly speaker at summer career camp for local high school students (class size: 45 - 60 students)
- Speak 60 to 90 minutes about career opportunities and personal "beta" testing
- Job Posting Standardization Sub-Team
- Assisted in project that helped standardize our job titles and posting for external recruitment networks.
- Team led to increased applications overall "clicks" for job postings within the system
